Donegal County Council requested design and tender submissions for conversion of an industrial unit in Gweedore town into the public library facility.
Desks International were successful in winning the project and creating a unique library space for local people. Reception area in walnut was tailored to the needs of the librarians casual seating in various areas for quite reading. Quick pick units for latest editions and popular authors. Computer desks and chairs for young people. The premises had been converted from a factory space – now the loading bay area was a dedicated children’s fun area and storytelling space.
Library shelving had the capacity to facilitate books for all ages and a reference section as per original brief. Shelving was supplied on mobile lockable castors for ease of movement and flexibility. Signage was supplied in both English and Irish for mature speakers.
